Why We Worship
At CDA Bible Church, our weekly worship gatherings are a time to give thanks and celebrate what God is doing in our lives and community. The congregation is led in a time of Christ-centered praise that focuses on declaring the truths of who God is and what He's doing. Each week we will read, learn from, and respond to the Scriptures being taught. The form that a worship gathering takes can be as varied as the number of believers who gather to worship. Our personalities, backgrounds, and cultural differences all influence the way we express ourselves; singing, clapping, raising hands, or whatever outward manifestation we choose is only a means of expressing our hearts in worship to Jesus. Fundamental to accepting our differences is the understanding that the process of gathering to worship is not worship itself. Music, whatever the style, is not worship and is a vehicle of expressing what is happening inside our hearts in our community by the power of Jesus.
You will find our worship gatherings to be in a style which we might call (for a lack of better term,) “relaxed formality.” We desire to guard against a casual worship approach that betrays a lack of reverence while also avoiding a stiff formalism that stifles the release of joy and praise. We encourage congregational involvement and purposely structure our services to encourage the expression of joyful praise. At CDA Bible, when we gather to worship each week, we devote significant time to the study of God’s word, corporate singing and other elements as we worship and continue this multi-generational expression in the times that we live.
We hope you will gather with us as we seek to love our God with all of our hearts, soul and mind.
