Kurt Staeuble--Lead Pastor

I’ve been the lead pastor at CDA Bible since 2009.  I absolutely love seeing how lives can be changed when people trust God to bring about transformation in their lives. I’m truly excited for the future of CDA Bible.

My wife Sara is an incredibly faithful and helpful ministry partner through the years.  We have two adult children, Lauren and Aaron, one son-in-law (Zach) and two grandchildren.

I enjoy fishing, basketball, kayaking, hiking, and trying new foods.  If I could have any exotic pet, I wouldn’t mind having a new reptile in the house!

I’ve been at CDA Bible Church since 1987!  I was invited to a Sunday School class and have been here ever since.

I'm from a large family. We started out in farm country on the Palouse. We moved to Lewiston when I was eleven. I graduated from Lewiston HS in 1981 and Washington State University in 1985. My first ministry at CDA Bible was serving in VBS. I taught Kids Sunday School for about 20 years, moving from pre-school to 3rd grade to 6th grade, to middle school. I served in Women's Ministry for about 6 years.  And now I oversee BOTH! God has truly blessed me in this crazy journey of walking with Jesus. My husband is Dave and we have three wonderful adult children, each married to amazing spouses, and three beautiful grand-daughters and one cutie-pie grandson. Our cup runneth over!

I LOVE John 8:32 and quote it often: “The truth shall set you free.”

My drive for ministry is rooted in the fact that I love people and I love the Word of God. The first one comes naturally. The second, my love of the WORD, grew out of my study of the Bible. It is so good, it is so true and it really does have the answers to all of life. Whenever I can connect the people I love to the most amazing treasure I know, the Bible... that's a good day!!
Zach Penston--Pastor of Worship and Discipleship
My wife and I have been attending CDA Bible since 2012. I have a big heart for seeing people mature and deepen their walk with Jesus.  I believe we are on a crash course for God to work amazing things in and through this body.

I really enjoy gardening and keeping chickens, playing board games, and engaging in quality conversations. I am a Bible nerd, and could talk about the scripture for days (really, it's bad). My wife Lauren is wonderful, multi-talented, and the best partner I could ask for on this journey. We have two boys, Jude and Monroe, they're out of control.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be donuts.  Clearly.

Hannah Harmelink-- Student Ministry Director
Born and raised in Coeur d'alene, I did a stint in Northern California for college before moving back to attend CDA Bible in 2019.  I love the truth of God’s word and nothing would give me greater joy than to raise up young people who love Jesus and are fascinated with his scripture.  Everything always comes back to Jesus and his heart for us.  It's only out of experiencing his love and ridiculous forgiveness that we can then love him and the people around us.  But how powerful the impact when we do!
I'm stoked to be living close to so much of God's creation and could be completely content running, playing any kind of sport outside, baking, or just chilling with friends all day long.  My husband Robbie and I love working with youth as well as adventuring, reading together, and truly anything to do with fish.

My wife, Sonja, and I have been coming to CDA Bible since 2012, and between the two of us have served in various ministries. At CBC you might find me leading a class, occasionally swinging the bass guitar on the worship team, or greeting you at the door. Basically, Sonja and I just love to fill in and serve wherever there is a need. At the end of the day, our passion is building Christ-centered relationships with people to encourage and equip them into deeper relationship with Jesus.

My hobbies include hiking, backpacking and generally exploring the back-country of God’s creation.  I also enjoy reading (history, theology, and some fiction), and working on projects in my shop. Sonja and I are blessed to be the parents of four amazing kiddo’s.

If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life? No question, pizza.  Or ice cream. No, definitely pizza. But sometimes ice cream.
Lillian McPoland--Custodial and Grounds

I have been at CDA Bible since 1991, and have served in the maintenance department for about 12 years. I don’t know if I really “enjoy” cleaning, but I like the results and our congregation really seems to appreciate it.
I’m a constant gardener, and I really enjoy the fresh veggies and fruit!  There is nothing like eating raspberries/blueberries right from the bush.  My steadfast husband Brian and I (married for 42 years) are both natives of CDA.

Lynn Hochberger--Office Manager

I have been attending CBC for over 20 years, and my husband, Kent, and I have been members since 2001. We have two daughters who grew up in the church and have been blessed by great Sunday school teachers, some of which you see on this page! My ministry involvement has mostly been in children’s ministry- nursery, VBS, harvest party, PNO. I love those little cuties! I was the Children’s Ministry Assistant for a few years when the girls were young, and now I serve as the CBC Office Manager. I grew up in the Moscow, ID area and have lived in Coeur d’Alene for 28 years. We love the beauty and small town (but not too small) feel of Cd’A.
I enjoy lots of different crafts, thrift store shopping, “updating” thrift store finds and furniture, as well as gardening in the summer. We have three grandsons who we love to spend time with and spoil. I love most food with the exception of spicy food; I’m a “spice wimp.” I really like most vegetables and could eat a salad twice every day, maybe three if someone else makes it! When we take vacation we like to go in the winter and go somewhere warm to get a break from the cold (although beautiful) north Idaho winter. My favorite things about CBC is the solid Bible teaching and the fellowship of other believers.

Lisa and I began attending CBC in 2012 after moving here from Palmdale, California. I have served in a wide variety of ministry over the years. Currently I am involved in ushering, community dinner, men’s ministry and home group. I am semi retried working call when needed on a management team for wild land fire.

For fun I like small handyman projects, outdoor hiking, mountain biking and camping. I can eat Mexican foot anytime. Lisa and I have been married for 42 years and have two adult children Bryan and Brad. My wife and I like that the CDA Bible leadership is very united and love the Lord.

My wife, Allison, and I began attending CBC just after we got married.  This year we'll be celebrating our 10 year anniversary and our 10th year at CBC.  I've been involved in many ministries: College Group, Usher, Greeter, snow removal, nursery and men's ministry.

Allison and I have two boys Carter who is 3 and Bentley who is 6.  Bentley loves playing hockey and soccer.  Carter wants to be a policeman, fireman, dog catcher and doctor when he grows up and really enjoys pointing out people that look like "bad guys"  --sometimes rather loudly.  Allison is a High school Drama and English teacher.

I don't think I have enough skill to be considered a hunter or fisherman but in the fall I enjoy walking around the woods with a gun and I enjoy walking through rivers with a fly rod in the spring and summer.  I enjoy doing projects around the house, wood working, smoking meat, and somehow managed to find time to finish a full and half Ironman.

My family has been at CDA Bible for 8 years. For work, I am a physical therapist at MAC Physical Therapy. At church, you may find me serving as an usher, teaching High School Group on Sunday mornings, or helping with youth group in general. Our Family serves together at the community dinner

When it comes to recreation, I like to hike, bike, camp, ski, most things outdoors. Love to serve others.

And I love a big cheese burger, smoked brisket, iced tea, or homemade beef enchiladas! A perfect vacation is anywhere in the mountain with a waterfall or view nearby. When it comes to CDA Bible, I appreciate all the genuine people who are eager to serve each other and the community for God.
