Why We Worship…
At CBC our weekly worship services are a time to give thanks and celebrate what God is doing in our lives. The congregation is led in a time of Christ-centered worship that flows into the preaching of God’s Word. The form that worship takes can be as varied as the number of believers who gather to worship. Our personalities, backgrounds, and cultural differences all influence the way we express ourselves; singing, clapping, raising hands, or whatever outward manifestation we choose is only a means of expressing our hearts in worship. Fundamental to accepting our differences is the understanding that the process of worship is not worship itself. Music, whatever the style, is not worship and is only a vehicle or tool of expressing what is happening inside.
What Worship Looks Like at CBC…
You will find our worship services to be in a style which we might call (for a lack of better term,) “relaxed formality.” We desire to guard against a casual worship approach that betrays a lack of reverence while also avoiding a stiff formalism that stifles the release of joy and praise. We encourage congregational involvement and purposely structure our services to encourage the expression of joyful praise. At CBC when we gather to worship each week we devote significant time to the study of God’s word, corporate singing and other elements as we worship and continue this multi-generational expression in the times that we live. We hope you will worship with us as we seek to love our God with all of our hearts, soul and mind.
