God's
Word
We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration
and the authority of the Bible and that this divine
inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the
writings historical, poetical, doctrinal, and prophetical as
appeared in the original manuscripts. We believe it is God's
Word in written form and is our only guide in matters of
faith and conscience. (John 5:39; II Timothy 3:16, 17; II
Peter 1:21; I Corinthians 2:13; Romans 15:4).
The
Trinity
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists
in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that
these three distinct persons are one God in being, essence
and power (Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; Hebrews 1:1-3; Luke
2:11; John 1:14).
The Virgin Birth
We believe in the virgin birth of
Christ, that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of
the virgin Mary, and became the incarnate Son of God,
Immanuel, meaning "God with us" (Matthew 1:23; Luke 2:11;
John 1:14).
The
Holy Spirit
We believe in the personality and deity
of the Holy Spirit and His indwelling presence in every born
again believer. That He, as the indwelling One, is the
source of all power and all acceptable worship and service.
That His abode in the world in this special sense will cease
when the Church is completed and when Christ comes to
receive His own. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-15; I Corinthians
6:19; Ephesians 2:22; II Thessalonians 2:2-7).
Angels
We believe in the reality and personality of
angels, including the great enemy of God and man, Satan
(Jude 6; II Peter 2:4; Luke 14:10; Revelation 7:11; Hebrews
1:14; Ephesians 1:21).
The Fall of Man
We believe that man was originally
created in the image and after the likeness of God and that
he fell through sin. That the fall of man and his consequent
depravity is a fact; that sin is universal in men and
exceedingly heinous to God; that all are guilty and in a
lost condition apart from Christ.
We believe that judgment awaits all men; that the saved will
appear before the mercy seat of Christ for the testing of
their works; that the unsaved will appear before the Great
White Throne of judgment where eternal condemnation awaits
those who reject Christ Jesus the Savior (Romans 3:10-19;
3:23; 6:23; I Corinthians 3:11-15; John 3:16-18; Revelation
20:11-15).
Salvation through Jesus Christ
We believe
that God has provided for the salvation of man by the gift
of His Son Jesus Christ; that we are justified by faith in
the Lord Jesus Christ; that this salvation by the grace of
God is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross
of Calvary. We believe His passion accomplished a
propitiation to God, a redemption from sin and a
reconciliation of man; that salvation is received by
repenting of our sins and receiving Jesus Christ by faith;
that this experience is referred to as the born again life
(John 3:16; Romans 5:1; 10:9-10; 10:17; Ephesians 2:8-10;
Acts 2:38; John 3:3).
The
Family of God
We believe
that all true believers are members of the family of God.
Their sanctification, edification and security are provided
for in the finished work of Christ through faith in, and
obedience to, the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:14-17; II
Corinthians 6:18; Hebrews 10:10; 10:14; Ephesians 4:24; John
17:17; I Thessalonians 5:23; II Corinthians 7:1).
The
Resurrection of Jesus Christ
We believe
in the physical resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from
the dead and His glorified bodily presence at the right hand
of God as our only Great High Priest and Advocate (I
Corinthians 15:3-5; 15:20; John 11:25-26; Hebrews 7:24-28).
The
Rapture of the Church
We believe
in the imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to receive
His true Church unto Himself (Revelation 22:20; I
Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 8:19-23; Titus 2:13-14;
Philippians 3:20).
The
Second Coming
We believe
in the subsequent, visible and pre-millennial return of
Christ with His Church, to establish His promised worldwide
kingdom on the earth (Acts 15:16-17; I Timothy 4:1-3; II
Timothy 3:1-5; Revelation 10:1-3; Matthew 24:15-25).
The
Physical Resurrection of Men
We believe
in the physical resurrection of all men, each in his own
order; that the saints will rise to everlasting joy and
bliss, and the wicked will rise to conscious and eternal
torment (Luke 16:19-26; 23:42; II Corinthians 5:8;
Philippians 1:23; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6,7).
The
Great Commission
We believe
that the Great Commission is the primary mission of the
Church and that the Gospel of the grace of God is to be
preached to all the world; that Jesus died for the sins of
the world , and that therefore, the Church must tell a lost
and dying generation this good news. We believe that
whosoever will come is the invitation to all sinners from
our Lord Jesus Christ. Come to Jesus and become a child of
God or reject Him and be lost (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 16:15;
John 17:18; II Corinthians 5:18-20; I Peter 1:17; 2:11;
Romans 10:13; Matthew 11:28-30; I John 5:11-13).
God
the Creator
We believe that God is an eternal person, having no beginning and no
ending, and that He is Creator of all, infinite and
infallible (John 4:24; Luke 3:22b).
Baptism
We believe
that baptism by immersion is the only scriptural mode; that
baptism does not save, but is an act of obedience to the
command of Christ and a testimony to the world of our faith
in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ
(Romans 6:1-5; Matthew 28:19-20).
Communion
We believe
that communion (the Lord's Supper) is a symbolic ordinance,
picturing Christ's body broken for our sins and His blood
shed for our redemption; that it is not a saving ordinance,
but helps us remember His death (I Corinthians 11:23-24).
The
Local Church
We believe
that the local, organized church should be a body of born
again believers, baptized by immersion, and that Christ is
the only "Head of the body, the Church" (Colossians 1:18;
Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38, 41).
